Selling furniture and homeware online is its own story: the products are large and heavy, delivery is expensive, and the buyer takes a long time to decide and expects a lot of information along the way. PrestaShop lets you set that experience up deliberately rather than hope it works out.
Delivering large items
The cost of delivering a sofa is not the cost of delivering a cushion. In PrestaShop you can tie the delivery price to weight, dimensions or price band, add a choice between delivery to the door and delivery into the room, and so avoid the nasty surprise in the basket that kills the order at the last step.
Variants and configurations
The same wardrobe in three colours and two sizes; a table with a choice of top material. These are combinations PrestaShop handles with attributes. The buyer configures the product they want, and you keep clean stock for every version of it.
A rich product page
On expensive items the buyer needs more: a gallery, dimensions, materials, care instructions, and ideally something that shows scale. More good information means more trust and fewer returns — but the images still have to stay light, or the page nobody waits for is the page that would have sold the sofa.
A longer path to purchase
Furniture buyers often come back several times before they buy, sometimes over weeks. Wishlists, comparisons and clear delivery terms bring them back. It is also worth thinking about maintenance, so the store holds up through the seasonal peaks when the traffic actually arrives.
